At least five people were killed and several others injured after a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck China's Sichuan Province on Tuesday.
Xinhua news agency quoted the China Earthquake Network Centre (CENC) as saying that the quake struck at a depth of 20 km.
According to the reports, the epicenter of the quake was located 33.2 degrees north latitude and 103.82 degrees east longitude.
The earthquake administration has launched the second level of its four-tiered emergency response system and dispatched officers to the region to deal with emergencies.
The quake was also strongly felt in the provincial capital Chengdu about 300 km south of the epicenter.
