Three men and two women were killed on Saturday in a car-truck collision on the highway linking Chandigarh to Ghanaur.
One man and one woman have survived.
"There were seven patients, out of which four died on the spot. Three were brought to the hospital for treatment of which two have survived. They were the students of Sonipat and Himachal Pradesh," said Dr. Munish, Karnal trauma centre.
The Traffic Station House Officer (SHO), Sub-inspector Vikrant said, "We got a call from the control room that a Duster car has met with an accident on the highway. There were four dead bodies when we reached. We immediately sent the three injured to Karnal trauma centre."
"We have just received the message that one has expired at the hospital as well. In total five have died till now, out of seven. They were travelling from Chandigarh to Ghanaur," he added.
The reason for the accident is still unknown.
