A Maoist operative was killed during an encounter with security forces in Jharkhand's Lohardaga on Friday.
Heavy arms and ammunition were recovered during the search operation, initiated by the state police, after the encounter.
"This morning, at around 7.30 a.m. the encounter took place and both sides resorted to heavy firing. We are conducting searches in that area. We have recovered a dead body of a Maoist and we have also recovered over 150 live cartridges," said Superintendent of Police, Manoj Ratan Chaubey.
A clash between police forces and Maoists also took place in Gumla.
The police recovered hand grenades, walkie-talkie and several important documents from the place.
