Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi's nine-foot long bronze statue will be unveiled outside the UK Parliament today by British Prime Minister David Cameron and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, who met Jaitley yesterday, said the statue will be monument to his country's close ties with India.
"Gandhi statue will be monument to our close ties and contribution of UK Indian community. A father of democracy in front of mother of parliaments," Osborne said.
"Indian finance minister here to unveil historic Gandhi statue in parliament sq which William Hague and I announced in Delhi last summer," he added in a series of tweets.
