Police on Wednesday pressed charges against Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and 23 others in two cases filed for arson attacks in Darussalam area of Dhaka last year.
Darussalam police submitted the charge sheets to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka, reports the Daily Star.
The former prime minister has been shown as mastermind of both the attacks in Darussalam area during the BNP-led 20-party alliance anti-government agitation in the charge sheets.
The police have appealed before the court to issue arrest warrant to Khaleda.
