Attorney General (AG) Mukul Rohatgi on Tuesday gave a clean chit to former Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan in an alleged disproportionate assets (DA) case.
Dismissing the PIL filed by NGO Common Cause, the AG said the petition has no relevance and that nothing was found in the income tax case against Balakrishnan.
The NGO had earlier alleged Balakrishnan of amassing Benami property and disproportionate assets in the names of his relatives and associates during his tenure as Chief Justice.
Next date of hearing in this case will be on January 19.
