The chairman of the Mumbai branch of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), Sudheendra Kulkarni, on Tuesday dismissed Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar's statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi made in an interview to a Pakistani news channel, as completely 'illogical'.

"I completely disagree with Mani Shankar Aiyar on his statement that for India-Pakistan dialogue to resume, Prime Minister Modi and his government should be removed. It's completely illogical," Kulkarni told ANI here.

He said that Prime Minister Modi should restart the dialogue process with Pakistan in a meaningful way.

"Mani Shankar Aiyar should not have said this statement. When we were together in Karachi, when this issue came up in one of the television discussions, I said that I don't agree with Mani Shankar Aiyar," he added.

Aiyar, who went to Pakistan before the Bihar Assembly polls, said in an interview to the Dunya TV channel, that Islamabad should help India in defeating Prime Minister Modi and ensure that the Congress is back at the Centre.
