Four men charged with Westgate mall attack appear in Kenyan court

Four men charged with aiding extremists in connection with Kenya shopping mall massacre have appeared in court.

At least 67 people died when gunmen from terror group al-Shabaab attacked the Westgate shopping centre in Nairobi on September 21.

According to the Mirror, the four men are also accused of being in Kenya illegally.

They have been named as Mohammed Ahmed Abdi, Liban Abdullah, Adnan Ibrahim and Hussein Hassan.

The charge sheet at court read that the accused persons carried out a terrorist attack at Westgate Shopping Mall by supporting a terrorist group.

The men, all in their 20s, pleaded not guilty to the charges, which also included obtaining false identification documents, the report said.

The suspects, who had no lawyers, were remanded in custody for one week after the prosecution asked for more time for further investigations, it added.
