Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shrikant Sharma on Wednesday alleged that the Congress Party went to the Election Commission for cheap popularity.
"The Prime Minister does 'Mann Ki Baat' and crores of people listen to it. Frustration is gradually developing in the Congress Party. No one is speaking about the Congress, so, they thought at least with this, people will see them on television and in newspapers. They went to the Election Commission for cheap popularity," Sharma told ANI.
Sharma further said that the entire alliance is in frustration and they are disappointed with the popularity of the Prime Minister.

"Congress wants to create an emergency situation in the country. But they should understand that the people of the nation have rejected them. Due to this negative thinking, it has become 44 from 414," he added.
The Congress Party approached the Election Commission today seeking a ban on the broadcast of Prime Minister Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' program, which is scheduled to be aired on Sunday.
According to reports, the Congress is citing the Model Code of Conduct, which is presently in place for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, as the reason for opposing the 'Mann Ki Baat' program.
