The Rajput Karni Sena on Thursday said that it will lodge a First Information Report (FIR) against all the 'mute spectators' at the Jantar Mantar who allowed the farmer, Gajendra Singh, to commit suicide during an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rally in the national capital on Wednesday, and blamed the Delhi Government for the incident.
"I am still not able to believe that he has done this, he was very attached with the Karni Sena, other farmers, cultural activities. This is a personal loss for me. We are going to lodge an FIR against all those who were mute spectators in the rally. Rajput Karni sena will give compensation to his family," president of the Rajput Karni Sena Lokendra Singh Kalvi said.
"This appears to be an administrative failure of the Delhi Government. It is very shameful that the rally went on even after he died. We will lodge a complaint against all those who provoked him to do so," he added.
Gajendra had committed suicide on Wednesday by hanging himself from a tree during the rally at Jantar Mantar.
As per reports, a suicide note was found that revealed the farmer, who had three children, was banished from his house after his crop was damaged. He took the extreme step because he had no means of support his family.
The incident also sparked criticism for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, with opposition parties condemning that the rally went on despite the grave incident.
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sadness over the incident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said she would do whatever is needed for the welfare of the farming community.
