Government, RBI prepared to deal with US Fed impact, says Jayant Sinha

Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha today told media on the sidelines of the India Economic Convention that the government has built multiple layers of defence to deal with a possible US Federal Reserve hike in interest rates after nine years.

Sinha said the goal of policymakers in India is to strengthen the domestic economy and ensure that asset markets and financial markets move in an orderly, smooth and predictable manner.
