New Zealand opening batsman Martin Guptill believes that maintaining aggressive brand of cricket may be the best way to earn a comeback into the Test squad.

Guptill, who hasn't played a Test match in the last two years, is hoping to earn a recall following a terrific performance for English county side Derbyshire this season. The right-hander, who was the leading run-scorer in the World Cup, amassed 451 runs at an average of 112.75 in three matches for Derbyshire.

Guptill said that he sort of took an attacking mindset in for Derbyshire in the few innings he had played, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Guptill displayed his batting prowess as he smacked 227 off just 176 balls while his 161 retired out came off just 108.

The explosive batsman said that if he gets the chance in the test matches then he would just look at playing how he could play and take it from there.

Guptill made the highest individual score in the World Cup history with an unbeaten 237 against West Indies in the quarterfinal.
