Advocate Shyam Sunder, the lawyer of H N Girisha, on Wednesday said the Paralympian deserves the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award.
Sunder said that Girisha is an internationally acclaimed sportsman.
"The law expects that the committee should have recommended the name of H N Girisha," he added.
He also said that representation was made to the Sport Ministry but there was no reply from their end.
"The matter is now before the court. Girisha has to win and he shall come out of the court as a winner. The award has to go to the one who deserves without any nepotism," he said.
