Former Pakistan captain Amir Sohail has called the ICC a 'total failure', saying that it has proved its incompetence again in tackling the corruption in the game.

Sohail's comments come in the wake of the spot-fixing controversy surrounding the ongoing lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament in which three Indian cricketers, including Test pacer S.Sreesanth, have been arrested, the Express Tribune reports.

Stating that the ICC and its Anti Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) unit have failed in tackling the corruption that have seeped into the roots of world cricket today, Sohail said that questions are once again going to be raised on ICC's failure to tackle corruption in cricket.

According to Sohail, the game is being ruined, adding that the ICC mostly sends umpires, referees and match officials in the league besides the ACSU officials and Delhi police or a British tabloid catches the fixers, which he termed as a failed institution.

Sohail further said that if the ICC wants to protect cricket from such controversies then it must change its strategy and bring reforms, adding that it must also dare to question the strong Indian board about measures taken in the IPL as this is the second time IPL players have been found involved in such a controversy.
