The office of the new Indian Prime Minister elect Narendra Modi has banned him from accessing the old PM Twitter account.

The sabotage of the online podium was highlighted when the office of the Indian prime minister changed the name of its official Twitter handle from @PMOIndia to @PMOIndiaArchive.

The Twitter handle currently has 1.24 million followers and would be active until May 20, 2014 after which it would be deactivated and archived.

According to CNET, Narendra Modi would have to build his own followers under @PMOIndia account, which presently has over 9000 followers after being re-created.

Though Modi has a following of over 4.2 million in his personal Twitter account, it is not easy transition all official messaging on a social platform to a new account with minuscule audience, reports revealed.
