India should not stop dialogue process with Pakistan: Farooq Abdullah

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said India should not stop the dialogue process with Pakistan, as it is the only way out for resolving existing bilateral disputes.

"We won't stop the dialogue process with Pakistan. The solution has to be found by talking, be it today, tomorrow or whenever," Abdullah told media outside Parliament here.

"If we stop the dialogue process with Pakistan, it will only strengthen our enemies," he added.

External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid has said that steps need to be taken by Pakistan before India starts addressing the need for having talks.

Khurshid, who was talking to media on the sidelines of a function here, said there is a sense of disappointment in India over the recent Pakistani actions, and the priority today, is that the ceasefire violations must stop.

The Lok Sabha is likely to pass a resolution today condemning Pakistan's resolution against India.

The National Assembly of Pakistan had on Tuesday passed a resolution accusing Indian troops of 'unprovoked aggression' on the Line of Control (LoC) and extending support to the 'struggle' of the Kashmiri people.

The resolution, moved by Pakistan's Science and Technology Minister Zahid Hamid, a senior leader of ruling PML-N, condemned the 'unprovoked aggression by Indian military forces across the LoC in recent days' and reiterated that Pakistan 'shall continue to extend diplomatic, political and moral support for the just and legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people'.
