Indian Army successfully eliminated an infiltrator and recovered large quantities of arms and ammunition at Mendhar area of Jammu and Kashmir during early on Monday.
"In a successful operation carried out by the Indian Army, in the early hours, one infiltrator was successfully eliminated and large quantities of has been recovered from the infiltrator, who has been killed," PRO (Defence) Lt. Colonel Manish Mehta told ANI.
"The surveillance grid was in place, using all the available night vision and other surveillance equipment, this infiltrator was detected, and successfully eliminated in the early hours of the morning...Apart from the weapons that he was carrying, some Pakistani mines have been recovered," he added.
Lt. Colonel Mehta further said that some infiltrators may have escaped due to darkness and adverse weather conditions.
