The 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Bengaluru on Monday ended with surprises for many, both in good and bad terms.
While England all-rounder Ben Stokes stole the show after being bought by a whopping amount of Rs 14.50 crores by Rising Super Giants, Imran Tahir, world number one bowler, both in T20s and ODIs, was not even lucky to be bought by any of the franchises.
Spinner Rashid Khan and all-rounder Mohammed Nabi became the first Afghanistan cricketers to be bought by an IP franchise. Both were bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 4 crore and Rs. 30 lakh respectively.
