Israel has reportedly unveiled a laser shield technology that is capable of shooting down short-range missiles to prevent damage from enemy rocket fire.
The technology called the Iron Beam is being developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, and will be showcased in the upcoming Singapore Air show for publicity purposes
Amit Zimmer, a spokesman for the company said that it is exactly like what one sees in 'Star Wars,' adding that15 engineers worked for about five years to develop the technology, which he claimed was "very accurate" and designed especially to help avoid collateral damage, the Washington Times reported.
