Jharkhand CM meets PM Modi

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Sunday and briefed him about the areas that need to be worked on in his state.

"Prime Minister Modi has given a big responsibility to a labour. I want to thank the respected Prime Minister and that is why I had come to meet him today. It was a courtesy call, where I made him aware of the condition of the state, especially the financial and revenue condition," said Das.

"He assured us that we will get every help from Centre. He said that we should just serve Jharkhand now and they will do whatever will be needed. There is a need to pay special focus on the infrastructure. I came here to assure that if Jharkhand will be given help, we can successfully make his dream of a developed Jharkhand come true," he added.

The Jharkhand Chief Minister had earlier on Saturday met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran Lal Krishna Advani and had said that he would do his best to accomplish all the dreams of the people of his state.

Das was sworn-in as the state's 10th Chief Minister by Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed last Sunday.

Das, who will represent the Jamshedpur East constituency in the 81-member legislative assembly, is the first non-adivasi among the six men to ascend to the top position.
