A 55-year-old cook of the social welfare ladies hostel allegedly molested a minor girl, in the Bangarapet town of Kolar, Karnataka.
On August 16, the hostel cook, identified as Narayanappa, molested the girl and threatened her to not inform anybody.
The matter came into light only when the girl's parents registered a complaint with the zila panchayat, after which a case was registered in the Bangarapet Police Station.
The case has been registered against the accused and the hostel wardens named Chikkanna and Radhamma.
Two have been arrested in connection with the case, but the main accused Narayanappa has managed to flee.
