Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday criticized Zee for banning singer Sonu Nigam, who had voiced his support for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas via twitter against the accusations made by the former over his alleged involvement in the suicide of farmer Gajendra Singh.
"Zee bans Sonu Nigam for supporting Kumar Vishwas! Can we expect "journalism" from such media?" tweeted Kejriwal.
Earlier on Monday, the singer had tweeted he felt that the truth should come out in the case.
"I am far from politics, but I feel this truth should come out for the sake of my poet friend Kumar Vishwas," tweeted Nigam.
He had also said that maybe the channel had not tried to manipulate the video and had perhaps just misunderstood the recording.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the investigation into the farmer's suicide case is still on.
The farmer had committed suicide during the AAP's rally against land ordinance at the Jantar Mantar.
As per reports, a suicide note was found that revealed the farmer, who had three children, was banished from his house after his crop was damaged. He took the extreme step because he had no means of support his family.
