The Left Parties staged a protest in the Parliament premises on Friday demanding a high-level investigation into Lalit-Gate and the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh.
"We want an inquiry be conducted into Lalit Modi gate and the Vyapam scam. The concerned ministers should resign until the inquiry is completed," CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury said.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament has remained at a logjam with the opposition led by the Congress, demanding the resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje who have been drawing flak over former IPL chief Lalit Modi controversy.
The opposition has also been mounting pressure on the Centre to sack Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in connection with the Vyapam scam.
