FOX network is bringing back the classic action film 'Lethal Weapon' as a TV series, but this time it will be without Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.
The network would be producing the show and relate closely to the film. It is going to be all about the Texas cop and former Navy SEAL, Martin Riggs (played by Mel Gibson), who lost his wife and baby and moved to LA for a new start, The Daily Star reports.
Riggs partners with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh (played by Danny Glover), who suffered a minor heart attack and must avoid getting stressed out.
This is not the first blockbuster this year that has been followed by a TV series. Other movies that were turned into sitcoms were 'Uncle Buck,' 'Rush Hour' and 'Training Day.
