Lionel Richie will perform at Glastonbury music festival in 2015 and has been placed in the slot previously occupied by Dolly Parton and Sir Tom Jones.
Festival co-organiser Emily Eavis, said that they were over the moon and they felt very lucky to get the call from a true Motown legend asking to play next year, the BBC reported.
The 'All Night Long' hitmaker asserted that said he was really excited to play Glastonbury next year as it was one of the most iconic festivals in the world.
The 65-year-old musician continued that the fest had a exceptional history and the alumni of artists who had previously played was incredible so he was honored to be joining that club.
