Magic Faraway Tree book series by renowned author Enid Blyton books are set to be adapted for cinema.
Sam Mendes' production company, Neal Street Productions would make the story into a live action film version, which would tell the tale of a group of children and their adventures at the top of a tree in an enchanted forest, the BBC reported.
Neal Street Productions' Pippa Harris said that the books by the Blyton, who had died in 1968, had captivated her as a child and completely retained their power to enchant, and it was an honor to be able to bring them to big screen to a new audience.
Marlene Johnson, head of the Enid Blyton Estate, said that Blyton, who's one of the world's best-selling children's authors, was a passionate storyteller, and they were excited to develop the "much loved title".
The four novels that have been optioned for film adaptation, which were written by Blyton between 1939 and 1951, are The Enchanted Wood, The Magic Faraway Tree, The Folk Of The Faraway Tree and Up The Faraway Tree.
