Mahershala Ali has joined the cast of Netflix's next Marvel series as Cottonmouth.
According to E!Online, Ali will play Cornell 'Cottonmouth' Stokes, also a nightclub owner, who will become an unexpected foe in Luke Cage's life when his criminal activities threaten Cage.
Referring to Cottonmouth, Executive producer Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, said that Cage would not know what hit him.
The cast of 'Luke Cage' also includes Simone Missick as former NYPD officer Misty Knight, Alfre Woodard and Theo Rossi as villains Black Mariah and Shades.
