Manchester city signed defender Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia in a five-year deal reportedly for 32 million pounds.
The Argentine, who had earlier played in the Copa America final, will be paid initially 28.5 million pounds by the club.
The 27-year-old said that it was a dream to be a part of the club that looks so wonderful from outside, the BBC reported.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini lauded the player, saying that Otamendi is a strong player and has sound technical skills.
Pellegrini also considered him as an established player who has the right mentality to fit into the club.
Otamendi is City's third signing after Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph.
