Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has refused to rule out his side's chances of making it to the top four Premier League finish despite losing two points following their 1-1 draw against title winners Leicester City.

As fourth-ranked Manchester City suffered a defeat at Southampton, United still have a chance to qualify for the next year's Champions League.

"We were certainly looking to win the game. It was an opportunity for us to build on what we had gathered over the last few weeks, so we're disappointed with a draw," Carrick was quoted as saying by goal.com.

With just two games left, United are currently trailing by four points from City and now they have to win their next game at any cost to stand any chance of securing a top four finish.

Reflecting on his side's upcoming match, the 34-year-old called on United to just focus on winning their remaining matches.

Earlier, Leicester City clinched their maiden Premier League title in the club's 132- year history after Tottenham were held to a 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

United, which have made it to the finals of the FA Cup, will play their next match against Norwich City on Saturday.
