Premier League champions Manchester United will reportedly trial a 1,400-seat singing section in the Old Trafford stadium during the Champions League home game against Spanish side Real Sociedad on October 23.
According to the BBC, the stadium's noise levels have been widely criticised as being too low by the club's own fan groups and opposition supporters, although the club had to scrap an earlier attempt at the venture following police opposition.
The report mentioned that the signing section would be in the south east corner of the ground, adding that Sociedad's travelling fans, who would normally be housed there, will instead be placed in the East Stand.
As a part of the fan-led initiative, the report said that season ticket holders would be given priority, with any remaining tickets then offered to members.
United attempted to increase noise levels at the club last season by appointing an acoustic engineer, the report added.
