Maoists gunned down seven people in Jharkhand ahead of assembly polls.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Anurag Gupta, said the Maoists attacked a vehicle in the seven people killed were travelling.
"As per the information we have, the PLFI Maoists ambushed and attacked a vehicle in which seven people were travelling at 6.00 pm and all seven people have been killed," Gupta said.
Gupta refused to confirm identity of the deceased.
"I can't confirm it but it is believed that they were member of an outfit called Shanti Sena which is anti-PLIF but I can't confirm it," Gupta added.
