Former New Zealand captain Martin Crowe is set to release his memoir in which would cover everything from his sporting career, to being diagnosed with cancer.

The cricketing legend found out he had blood cancer when he received a call while he was dropping his daughter Emma for tennis coaching.

In an interview with Woman's Weekly, he said his soon-to-be-released memoir Raw, will be released on June 4, would even cover everything from marrying former Miss Universe Lorraine Downes, to becoming a dad.

According to stuff.co.nz, Crowe started working on his book last year on a holiday in Bali where he was celebrating his 50th birthday.

He told the Woman's Weekly that years of emotional stress, feeling afraid of rejection, humiliation, and failure, gave him cancer.

Crowe said the feelings started when he was a child, despite being raised in a loving and stable family. Now, he said he lived for his family.
