Fifty Shades star Jamie Dornan challenged fellow Northern Irishman and world number one golfer Rory McIlroy in a game of Circular Soccer, in which the golfer gave the actor a run for his money by winning the match 2-1.
In the YouTube clip that went viral, Dornan and McIlroy demonstrated a football training exercise that was co-invented by the actor's father Jim Dornan, a medical professor.
In the game, played as one-on-one or two-on-two, the attacker tries to beat a defender to score in a unique three-sided pop-up mini goal net at the centre of a small circular pitch. And McIlroy triumphed 2-1 against Dornan in what has been termed as a Circular Soccer Showdown, The Daily Star reported.
Both McIlroy and Dornan are big Man United fans.
When Dornan recorded the showdown with McIlroy at an unnamed all-weather pitch is unclear but the golfer has been in the US this past week competing in the Masters where he finished fourth, the report added.
