Microsoft will reportedly end Outlook.com sign-ups for its custom domain service after nearly 10-years of offering the yet little-known service for free.

Custom domain support allowed a user to use Outlook.com to manage a personal, non-Microsoft email domain, though the 'management' was limited to adding and removing up to 50 individual email accounts using the specialized domain.

However, according to PC World, while the existing custom domain users will not be able to add or remove new accounts from Custom Domains, all current email addresses will continue to work in Outlook.com

ZDNet's Ed Bott first informed about Microsoft's Windows Live Admin page demise, after Microsoft announced the termination on its service.

Principal group program manager Mike Schackwitz has reportedly informed Bott that the support will extend indefinitely and Microsoft's Windows Live Admin site said that they will provide the option to migrate ones account to Office 365 to domain administrators who wish to continue to manage email addresses in their domain.

Bott reportedly revealed that Microsoft would also offer the affected users a free three-month subscription to Office 365 Small Business Premium.

However, after the trial run ends, Office 365 Small Business Premium would cost a skyrocketing 150-dollars per year per user, the report added.
