Former Pakistani coach Mohsin Khan has backed Pakistan as favourites against their opening match in group two of the ICC World Twenty20 tournament against arch-rivals India.
Pakistan has lost all of their previous eight encounters in a world cup event against India, including five 50-overs ODI World Cup matches and three Twenty20 World Cup matches, since 1992.
According to The Express Tribune, Khan has said that he does not believe in the term 'jinx' and whatever happened in the past is gone.
The former chief selector further said that on paper, Pakistan is better than India as they have a balanced side which possesses 'quality batting and bowling', adding that their only concern is fielding.
Khan said that if Pakistan receives good support in their fielding they have bright chances to win the opening match against India, although he added that if the fielding caves in under pressure, then it would be up to the batting and bowling departments to perform better.
