Nepal's High Level Political Committee (HLPC) has recommended the government to hold talks with its Indian counterpart without any delay to resolve the issue of essential supply shortage and blockade in the border.

HLPC has also decided to hold talks with the leaders of Nepali Congress regarding fulfilling demands of agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front through amendments of the constitution, The Himalayan Times reported.

Many senior leaders of ruling CPN-UML, UCPN-Maoist, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) and Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic were present in the meeting which was held at the residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Thousands of Madhesis protesters continues to obstruct the movement of traffic from India to Nepal at Miteri Bridge at the Birgunj-Raxaul border point as they demand justice and equal rights from the government.
