The 11th national general convention of the Nepali Congress-affiliated Nepal Students Union (NSU) kicked off in Kathmandu on Sunday.
The three-day gala was inaugurated by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba amidst a special ceremony in Bhrikutimandap, reports the Himalayan Times.
The convention of the student wing of the country's oldest and largest political party could not be held since the reunion of party's two factions- establishment side and Deuba-led Nepali Congress.
According to NSU spokesperson U.P. Lamichhane, around 34,000 representatives from across the country are taking part in the general convention.
The convention will conclude on Tuesday after electing its new leadership.
