Former Hampshire batsman and cricket host Mark Nicholas has said that it is scandalous that Newlands has lost its traditional New Year Test match because of the severe shortening of India's summer tour of South Africa.
According to Sport24, Nicholas pointed out that the game was bout the players and those who pay to watch them, not the administrators.
He also said that it was scandalous that Cape Town had lost the match and South African cricket will lose a great deal of money because of it.
Nicholas also described the standoff between CSA's CEO Haroon Lorgat and the BCCI, which is seen as the major cause of the tour rumpus as ridiculous, the report said.
