Nitish unable to digest PM Modi's special package announcement for Bihar: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was unable to digest the fact of a special package announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and therefore, was holding "alochna (accusatory) conference."

"Yesterday Prime Minister Modi addressed a rally in Bihar and so celebrations are taking place in the state. Nitish Kumar ji, who used to call himself 'Bihar' and show that the state was insulted whenever something was said against him, is unable to stand all the celebrations and so he left the state and came to Delhi, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain told the media here.

"Bihar's demands were fulfilled yesterday. A special package of 1,25,00,000 crore was given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but a message is being given out in the state that the demand was for the state's special status," he added.

Launching an attack on the Bihar's government, Hussain said that criminals are roaming around freely in the state, but when the BJP legislators took out a victory rally, they were booked for it.

"Bihar's government lodged an FIR against MLA Nitin Navin just for celebrating the special package given to Bihar," he said.

Hussain also used this occasion to criticize Nitish for always keeping an "alochna conference" instead of press conference after every Narendra Modi's gathering, where he carps for an hour.

"Yesterday we expected that he would welcome the Bihar's package as he claims that he is a 'Bihari.' But he doesn't have any word as 'welcome' in his dictionary. Bharatiya Janata Party will take all these matters, including JD (U)-RJD's behavior, to public in Bihar," he added.

Nitish today reiterated his demand for the Centre to give special status to Bihar and full statehood to Delhi, despite Prime Minister Modi announcing Rs. 1.25 lakh crore special package for Bihar yesterday.
