President conveys sincere gratitude for condolences

President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday conveyed his sincere gratitude on behalf of his family and himself for the condolences and words of support extended over his wife Suvra Mukherjee's death.

The President has conveyed that the empathy and solace offered at this time of grief have given his family and him the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

The First Lady, who remained hospitalised for 11 days, breathed her last at 10.51 a.m. at the Army Research and Referral Hospital here on Tuesday.

Suvra Mukherjee was admitted to the Army Hospital on August 7 after she complained of breathlessness and discomfort.
