McLaren's racing director Eric Boullier has said that there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the team despite their continuing poor form in this Formula One season.

Despite both McLaren drivers Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen finishing outside the top 10 in Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix to underline the team's struggle for pace, Boullier said that the team has good individuals.

Boullier has admitted that it is his task to rebuild a winning team and said that they just need to reconsider a little bit strategically on how they build the McLaren car and develop their performance, the BBC reported.

Boullier said that the 2013 year should be a benchmark for McLaren to never lose again, as they endured their worst season since 1980 and finished at the 5th place in the Constructors Championship last year.

Boullier said that 2014 should be seen not as a transition year but as a year of rebuilding a winning team.

Boullier said that they have to believe that they will win a race, adding that the team has a number of new parts planned for their forthcoming races, starting with 'an interesting upgrade' for the next race.

The next Grand Prix would talk place in Spain from 9 May to 11 May where Boullier is hoping that McLaren would make a mark with all the new upgrades coming for the team, the report added.
