Ola, India's most popular mobile app for transportation will extend its range of mobility solutions to travelers through a designated 'Ola Zone' at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB) to allow Ola driver-partners to park their vehicles inside KIAB premises, with specifically demarcated areas to offer uninterrupted service to travelers arriving in the city.
This unique model, as a result of the MoU, shows the pivotal role that Ola has come to play in the mobility ecosystem of a large city like Bengaluru.
Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru is one of the busiest airports in the country and handled over 19 million passenger in FY 2016. By working together with KIAB, Ola aims to provide a convenient commuting option to hundreds of thousands of travelers who travel to and from the airport each day.
Customers can book an Ola cab from their app on their arrival at KIAB. Their designated cab and driver will be waiting at the 'Ola Zone', across the arrivals gate. Ola has also deputed queue representatives to guide customers towards their cab if need be.
"Ola is the popular choice of millions travelling to and from the airport and the city and airport drops and pickups account for a significant part of booking requests that we receive on any given day. As a result of this MoU, a larger pool of cars will be available for airport travelers with lower ETAs and utmost efficiency," said Vice President-Alliances at Ola, Anuj Sahai.
"This first of its kind partnership is testament to the transformational mobility experience that we have enabled for millions. We welcome the cooperation of BIAL and look forward to enabling the same level of convenience for our commuters across other cities travelling to and from airports and other public utility spaces in cities each day, taking us closer to our mission of building mobility for a billion Indians," added Anuj.
Ola has been allotted parking slots and pick-up points in the airport premises for driver partners to park their vehicles and customers' convenient on-boarding. Ola aims to replicate this model with other key public utility spaces as well, such as railways stations, bus stations, in Bangalore as well as across the 102 cities it operates in.
