Alicia Rhett, the oldest surviving cast member of 1939's 'Gone With the Wind', has passed away due to natural causes. She was 98.
According to Rhett's retirement home - Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community in Charleston, S.C. - the veteran actress died around 5 p.m. on Friday, People Magazine reported.
Rhett played the role of India Wilkes in the movie which also starred Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable.
Now that Rhett, who was also known for her portrait painting skills, has died, only 3 main cast members remain : Mary Anderson, 93, who played Maybelle Merriweather, Mickey Kuhn, 81, who starred as the son of Ashley and Melanie Wilkes and 97-year-old Olivia de Havilland who played Ashley Wilkes' cousin.
