The outer edge of Cyclone Hudhud has made landfall at Kailasagiri in Vizag with smashing 180 kmph winds being recorded there. The current speed of Cyclone Hudhud is 170-180 kmph gusting upto 195 kmph.
Hudhud eye, whose diameter is 50 km wide, will pass through Kalinga, Bheemunipatnam. There will be a lull in storm between 11am-12.30pm.
Five diving teams have been dispatched to Srikakula and 10 teams to low lying areas in and around Vizag for rescue and relief operations.
Meanwhile, RK Rana, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of National Disaster Response Force said a total of 42 teams have been deployed till now.
He also informed that no casualties have been confirmed till now.
Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth will also chair a meeting of National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) at 11.30 am today.
