Parents' generation will take time to be cool with 'live-in relationships': Aditya Roy Kapur

Though we are now in 2017, live-in relationship is still a not-so-acceptable concept in India, especially among the parents' generation.

During an interview with ANI here, when Aditya Roy Kapur was quizzed on the same, he said, the parents' generation will take time to be cool with the concept.

"I think as live-in is not in our culture, hence that can be a reason as to why people don't accept this concept. The change of thought will take its own time and that's natural. Our parents' generation never went into that stuff, so for them, to get used to this idea, will naturally take time," he said.

Further explaining his thoughts, the 31-year-old actor said, things will be easier once the parent realise that their children are old enough to take decisions, "But once they realise that their son or daughter is old enough to take decisions and trust them that they can take care of themselves and their partner, then they will understand that what people do in a live-in relationship is nothing more or less that what they do in a relationship, without living in together."

Adding, "So I think, time is changing and people are open to it."

On the same note, Aditya and Shraddha Kapoor will soon be seen playing a couple in a live-in relationship, in their upcoming flick 'Ok Jaanu.'

Directed by Shaad Ali, this film is an official remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil-flick 'O Kadhal Kanmani' and is set to hit the theatres this Friday, January 13.
