The Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Friday accused the NDA Government of not wanting Parliament to function, as it wanted to save its ministers from the various charges that are being levelled against them.

"There's no effort from the government. The government is trying to save its ministers from the accusations. Till the time the government is saving these kinds of alleged people, there's no point in continuing with the Parliament sessions," NCP leader Tariq Anwar told ANI.

"They themselves made these norms. When the Bharatiya Janata Party was in the opposition, that time they made many ministers resign by saying that these ministers shouldn't be at their respective posts till the time they remain accused and don't get a clean chit, after which the UPA Government had to remove those ministers," he added.

"May it be Pawan Bansal, Ashwini Kumar, Raja or CM Ashok Chauhan, we had to sacrifice a lot people that time. Today, when we are saying that your ministers are accused and the allegations have been proven right, you are not asking them to resign. These are all just talks. I think this government doesn't intend on running the Parliament," Anwar pointed out.

Both the Houses of Parliament have not been able to function with the opposition parties reiterating their demand for External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's resignation over her alleged help to Lalit Modi.
