A joint committee of the parliamentary panel submitted its recommendations to the government, proposing to double the salary of law makers and also demanded an increase in the pension of former MPs by close to 75 percent.
The joint committee has also proposed an automatic pay revision mechanism for the parliamentarians like that of the pay commission for government employees.
