Recalled wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel will continue to be part of the Indian team for the fourth Test of the ongoing five-match series against England beginning December 8 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
In a press release, the BCCI said, "The BCCI medical team has confirmed that wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha is still recuperating from the strain in his left thigh, which he sustained during the second Test match at Vizag."
"As a precautionary measure, Saha has been advised rest. The BCCI medical team is monitoring the wicketkeeper-batsman's progress," the release added.
The left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman, who was recalled into the Test side after a gap of eight years in the Mohali game against England, made a mark before the selectors and scored in both the innings.
Opening the batting for India, walking out to the middle with Murali Vijay, the 31-year-old left hander made a classy 42 in the first innings of the Third Test. Patel followed it up with a rapid fire unbeaten 67 off 54 balls in the second innings and help his side win the match comfortably by eight wickets and take a 2-0 lead in the series.
Meanwhile, fast bowler Ishant Sharma has also been released from the Test team. It is reported that Sharma has been released from the squad in order to conduct his wedding leaving India with 14 men to choose their XI from.
