Heavy rain washed out the second day's play of the second and final Test between Bangladesh and South Africa being played at the the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka on Friday.
The umpires called off the play soon after the scheduled lunch break when the weather showed no signs of improving and rain continued to drench the covers guarding the pitch.
Earlier, South Africa finished the opening day of the series-deciding Test on a promising note as they reduced the hosts to 246-8 at stumps on Thursday.
Pace spearhead Dale Steyn stole the limelight of the first day after becoming the second South African bowler after Shaun Pollock to reach the 400-wicket milestone. In addition, Steyn achieved this mark quicker than any other bowler in terms of balls bowled.
