At least three people have been killed and 40 others injured in explosions near a Shia mosque in Peshawar's Hayatabad area in Pakistan, said police and hospital officials.
According to Dawn News, an eyewitness said that five or six mean entered the mosque wearing security forces' uniform and hurled grenades at the security personnel.
He also said that one of the attackers was wearing a suicide vest and blew himself up inside the mosque as the rest of the men started firing.
Residents said that three explosions took place inside the Imamia Masjid Imambargah during the Friday prayers. However, police did not confirm the explosions inside the place of worship.
The area was engulfed in thick cloud of smoke, according to the residents.
